The canvas is filled with parrots with light, colourful plumage, scattered amongst branches, leaves and clusters of small flowers. The white and light blue of some of the birds alternate with yellow, blue and pink, creating splashes of colour that stand out against the neutral background. The vegetation is concentrated mainly in the upper and side areas of the composition. Some of the birds are simply perched amongst the leaves, whilst others seem to be observing their surroundings: a natural scene reinterpreted with a delicate touch and a luminous colour palette.
