Je Shen is one of the most promising talents in contemporary Asian art and a Chinese contemporary artist considered among the most compelling of recent years. His painterly research is distinguished by a refined and skillful use of techniques, through which he creates visually striking compositions.
His contemporary painting, often centered on floral and natural elements, engages the viewer’s perception, generating a powerful sense of magnetism through light and layered brushstrokes. Enchanting floral atmospheres emerge, where color and three-dimensionality become defining features, guiding the viewer through a journey of visions and emotions.
Je Shen’s work is part of the international contemporary art scene and has attracted the attention of specialized press in China, Japan, and Korea, where he is regarded as one of the most relevant contemporary artists of his generation.
Biography
Je Shen was born in Jiangxi (China) in 1973. After graduating from the Guangzhou School of Fine Arts, in 1993 he attended the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated with honours in 1998. From the outset, Je Shen demonstrated his talent, technique and desire to create a new artistic language, combining Eastern tradition with the teachings of 20th-century European and American masters. This blend of genres, influences and inspirations led to an intense exhibition schedule, which reached its first major milestone in 2008 when a permanent exhibition was dedicated to him at the Guangzhou Museum. In recent years, he has participated in more than 90 group and solo exhibitions around the world. He exhibits in the most interesting galleries in Beijing, New York and Singapore. He has won numerous awards for his unique technique and has been featured in art magazines such as Art Asia Pacific, Kolaj and Asia Art Archive. An artist with a future already written.
