Elia Tullini
Sculpture works
Elia Alunni Tullini's research develops through a powerful and rigorous sculptural language, in which matter becomes a means of investigation and reflection. He mainly uses reinforced concrete, ceramic resin and bronze, materials that he pushes to the limits of their expressiveness, alternating lightness and monumentality. His works address universal themes such as fragility and resistance, transformation, and the relationship between the individual and the community. The bodies and forms that emerge from his sculptures have a presence that is both archaic and contemporary: on the one hand, they recall the legacy of classical tradition, while on the other, they project themselves into an experimental dimension, charged with tension and energy.
The surfaces, often rough and marked, do not seek aesthetic harmony but become a field of memory and stratification, in which the material preserves and narrates. In this sense, Tullini's work is a constant dialogue between solidity and precariousness, between permanence and dissolution. His poetics, rooted in a deep interest in philosophical thought and artistic avant-gardes, offer the observer an intense and meditative experience, inviting them to question the human condition and the processes of transformation in contemporary society.
Biography
Elia Alunni Tullini was born in 1986 in Foligno, where he currently lives and works. From an early age, he demonstrated creative flair and excellent manual skills, honed in the workshops of his artisan grandparents. He furthered his studies in figurative art and philosophical thought, with a particular interest in the avant-garde and surrealism. This path, combined with an innate curiosity and extensive reading, contributed to giving his work a distinctly contemporary feel. A sculptor, ceramist, trainer and wax retoucher, he moved to Milan in 2013, where he worked at the Fonderia Artistica Battaglia. Here he worked alongside masters of the bronze arts, perfecting his wax, plaster and bronze techniques and creating works for important international artists.
