A bird’s-eye view opens out onto an expanse of blue and turquoise, where the coastline emerges at the edges, leaving the landscape almost entirely to the water. A few hot-air balloons drift across the upper part of the composition, light and distant, whilst small boats on the right introduce a subtle presence. The various shades blend on the surface, creating depth, movement and areas of greater chromatic intensity. The landscape, viewed from a suspended perspective, conveys a sense of silence and vastness.
