In this work, a portrait is reimagined in its most essential form through a refined balance of shapes and colour contrasts. The midnight blue of the background sets off the blue-grey of the hair, whilst the large blue earring and the coral-red lips introduce vibrant splashes of colour. The composition, reduced to just a few elements, highlights the graphic and textural quality of the fabric.
