A face emerges from the silence of the canvas like an ancient memory, suspended between time and memory. In ‘Terese’, Gian Piero Gasparini takes us on a visual journey that blends the rigour of technique with the delicacy of introspection. The work, realised with his unmistakable mixed technique on treated canvas - shattered, dipped in colour baths and then decoloured - creates a material surface that vibrates like a textile mosaic. Three colour circles - red, green and blue - burst onto the female face like emotional lenses, filters of the soul. Each fragment of the canvas bears the mark of a pixelated humanity, divided but still alive, in a poetics that recalls both pointillism and contemporary pixel art.
