Flowers in shades of pink, lilac, orange and yellow are scattered amongst the numerous parrots that populate the canvas, creating a rich and lively composition. The plumage ranges from white to green, from yellow to red, right through to the most intense shades of blue and fuchsia, with each bird characterised by different colour combinations. Branches and leaves criss-cross the surface, guiding the birds from one side to the other. The light background helps to give the work a lively, almost festive and highly decorative appearance.
