30_Untitled 779

In this contrast between presence and absence, we notice how the white of the canvas creates a pause whilst at the same time becoming an integral part of the composition. The female silhouette stands out against an explosion of colours unfolding behind her, almost as if it were a trail of thoughts in motion. Bright yellows, coral reds, greens and blues chase one another in fluid forms, amidst overlaps and sudden interruptions. Alessandro Casetti’s figure retains a quiet grace; it is a portrait that seems to convey a desire to let go, without losing one’s identity.
