17_Village on table 366

In this composition, the village is depicted suspended above the table, like a miniature world to be observed and reimagined. The houses appear to be part of a building set, yet retain the weight and solidity of real structures. Brandes plays with proportions and perspective, blurring the line between reality and representation. The result is an original vision that evokes the world of childhood and the pleasure of imagining impossible places.
