23_Happy horse

A horse with an elegant bearing takes centre stage in a landscape of warm tones, alongside a small house that seems to belong to another world. Brandes juxtaposes the animal’s natural grace with the rigorous geometry of the architecture, creating an unusual encounter. The rosy light and the vastness of the space lend the scene a sense of freedom, whilst the tiny dwelling suspended in the sky adds that touch of irony which characterises his painting.
